Beyond Barriers Foundation Hosts “BBF Sports/Fun Active Day” with Community Partners

On a bright and joyful Saturday afternoon, Beyond Barriers Foundation, Project Ready, the Fifth Avenue Entrepreneurs Club Youth Committee, and the Samuel Chen Live On Foundation co-hosted the “BBF Sports/Fun Active Day”, bringing laughter, energy, and warmth to children with special needs and their families.

Held on the open lawn in Harvest Church of New York in Little Neck, the event featured a variety of fun activities including soccer, frisbee, and corn hole. These activities not only gave the children a chance to exercise but also helped them build confidence and friendships. Organizers also prepared snacks and drinks, ensuring everyone felt cared for throughout the afternoon.

A highlight of the day was when a special needs child and his grandma performed a Tai Chi demonstration, beautifully balancing strength and grace. They also expressed their willingness to teach Tai Chi to the special needs children and parents in future gatherings, sharing this practice of both body and mind with more families.

“Usually I don’t dare to stand on the grass alone because I feel unsteady, but today the games were so fun that I forgot I was standing on the grass 😀. I rarely sweat, but today I was soaked with sweat from playing 😄.”

“This was the first time our Lisa could stand for so long and interact with everyone, and she had such a great time 😃. Even Attorney Chen, who usually looks very serious, was playing and jumping with the kids like a child today, encouraging them with warmth😘. The laughter never stopped 😉.”
